Real Bride DIY: Personalized Take-Out Box Favors

Candy and dessert bars are a hot trend in wedding receptions right now. Keep the fun going long after the party ends by supplying guests with decorated take-home boxes to bring the sweets with them. Here are real bride Lauren Meyer’s steps for creating personalized take-out boxes for wedding favors.

Supplies: cardboard take-out boxes from a craft store, a sharp knife or scissors, printed packing tape, stickers or cardstock.

Step One: Place an edge of the packing tape on one lip of the box and cut it to fit with the knife. Lauren chose a classic damask print, but you can personalize your design to the theme of your wedding. Try polka dots for a retro theme, florals for an outdoor wedding, or a fuzzy felt or velvet for a winter wedding.

Step Two: Wrap the tape around the box and trim the end to fit the lid.

Step Three: Embellish the front of the box with a sticker or piece cardstock. Lauren used monogrammed stickers, but brides who want to add a vintage touch could use antique bottle caps, stamps, or a wax seal.

Thanks, Lauren!
